Let's Talk About Flowers Of The Months |
There are times when we give plants and trees (and/or saplings) for funerals, for lost dear ones. Also we place and plant flowers on occasions such as weddings, festivals and fairs or maybe for hospital guests. Plus we also offer simulated flower arrangements—candy bouquets, chocolate roses, and others—for the same events, occasions, and milestones.
As part of a loving gesture that would include the gift of one or more of the flowers of the months… to appeal to the receiver’s heart or ego or even its sense of tradition. With love and creativity, by way of thoughtfulness and a minimum of pre-planning, we can grace not only the persons, but also their homes, or their relevant environs with the following, for example:
Carnations for January housewarmings;
Irises for February bar exam successes;
Daffodils for March theatre cast parties;
Daisies for April birthday parties;
Lilies-of-the-Valley for May Academy Awards dinners;
Roses for June graduation bashes;
Sunflowers for July fair day picnics;
Peridots for August baby showers;
Asters for September anniversary celebrations;
Snap-dragons for October art gallery shows;
Chrysanthemums for November harvest rituals; and
Orchids for December retirement parties.
The above are examples, and are traditional events and reasons for using flowers of the months, but if you take the time to look around a bit, you will find more original uses for the flowers of the months. Take for an instance, one website offers each of the flowers of each of the months in drawing form - so kids can enjoy coloring in the pages (which are printable) and thus learn the months of the year in the process. Or, another instance is found with the those who make flower cookies and put them on sticks and collect them into bouquets. If you take a step further to look around, you will find more brilliant, unique ideas, and thinking harder, you can come up with your own one-of a kind idea for uses of the ever-popular flowers of the months.
